Blackberry Acres
Miniature Horse Farm
Who we are:

Blackberry Acres is a Miniature Horse Farm located in Grove City, Ohio where it is
owned and operated by Mike and Cathy Mounts. Currently we have thirteen
horses in our stable and all are AMHR registered and have been trained by us on
the  farm.  Occasionally we will attend local parades and have gatherings at the
farm which everyone always enjoys.  All of the horses are a huge hit with our four
grandchildren and all of the nieces and nephews.
How we started:

Although we are not currently in the business of selling or breeding our horses
we love the miniature horses.  We started with one (Navajo) back in 1995 and
now have thirteen.  Navajo was our first horse and we fell in love with him.  As
we started to explore all the things you can do with miniature horses we
started to train Navajo to pull a cart so we could attend parades and shows.
From those first few experiences it was in our blood we wanted more horses
and more shows. From then we have trained and shown many horses and
attended several parades.

What we enjoy now:

Now that we have four grandchildren we look forward to having them
participate in the activities with the horses. Currently Justin age 8 is showing
and driving horses on a consistent basis.  He has received numerous awards
over the past few years and really enjoys spending nights at the shows with his
PawPaw.  His brother Jakob is 5 and participated in his first class last year.
We are hoping he continues to show.  Taylor is 6 and our only grand-daughter,
She has shown a few times and loves to spend time with Cheyenne.  Blake is 7
and enjoys being around the horses but I think he likes playing on the farm
more than going to shows.  Although they all participate with the horses at
different levels one thing that is common is they all love being around them.
